![]() ![]() If you have character A who's so much above character B, who's the main character, you're gonna be left wondering how in the hell character B, the character we're supposed to care and root for, is going to escape the situation or overcome the odds. People who care about them (well, people who care about them in a narrative) don't care about the big numbers or the fancy explosions. Power levels establish tension and drama. wrote:I've explained before, I'll just paraphrase myself. Now that they've mastered net coding, hopefully they'll concentrate on content.Doctor. The producer did say they wanted to do SC6, 7, and 8 in a video interview, so I'm looking forward to that for next gen consoles. ![]() If I put Ivy in a bikini, I want the body from her default outfit, not a skinnier, fake one. And they did the same stupid thing they did in SC4 where if you customize a main character, their body isn't the same body on their default outfit. I really wish they'd make the hit detection more accurate. From what I've seen, they did bring back my favorite move from Ivy, the rage kick, but it's not the same as it was in 3. The game is an online experience, which I don't have. ![]() I loved that extra stuff, and seeing all the characters backstory of what they're doing in each game. People are saying there is no single player content whatsoever. I actually have heard some really bad things. Now with SC5, I was looking forward to, but I don't want to get. They really focused on single player which made it the best for me. I tried, and it actually felt inferior, w/ the exception of Link. Then when I finally got SC3 in 2008, I literally couldn't go back to SC2. At the time, I had never seen such detailed graphics especially with character models. I became a fan with SC2 when I saw Link on the promotional artwork in 2003. Overall, the game felt slightly rushed due to the lack of overall features compared to other games in the series, but it's definitely a solid entry to the series. I like the ability to select your battle music. I just wish that the items were easier to obtain. Several extra tweaks, like affecting the character's body type is really great. The character customization feature is definitely a step up from SC4's, removing the annoying "functionality over fashionablility" aspect. The character endings that have been present in the series since the beginning are gone, and the story that's given is almost as bad as SC4's. I was really disappointed with the Story Mode. The game looks really nice, even though I wasn't quite fond of the SC4 style, but several tweaks to the graphics made the game look real nice. (Still waiting for the Prince from Prince of Persia as a guest character though). The choice of Ezio as a guest character was definitely a better one than the Star Wars characters in SC4. I would've preferred that they put Xianghua instead of Leixia, but it doesn't really matter to me I guess. I really like Natsu's style, and find her much more enjoyable to play with than Taki (plz plz plz don't kill me). Some of the replacements i found pretty great. Xiba seemed pretty superfluous to me (*coughcoughCould'vePutSeongMi-Nacoughcough). I have mixed feelings on some of the new characters. I'm really glad that they re-included Edge Master, though. ![]() Of course there were several omissions that I found surprising (mainly Talim and Seong Mi-Na), and a great number of Soul series veterans are absent, and it kinda bugs me that they haven't explained what happened to them. Roster: I kinda like the character roster. Still a good game by all means, but highly disappointing IMO. I love the large selection of characters and the Character Customization SC2: Still amazing (dat Link guest character) Ever since then, countless dollars have been spent on the arcade versions of SC1, 2, and 3. I love the Soul series, it's been a favorite of mine ever since I played Soul Blade on the PS1. My thoughts on SCV (and some of the other games) ![]()
